The Mid-Atlantic Summer Bible Conference was held from July 24th to 27th at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. This year's theme was "Blessed is the One who Fears the Lord" based on Psalm 112:1. When this theme was decided on, I was not sure how people would respond to it, as it doesn't look attractive in people's eyes, and I thought registration may be lower than normal. But thanks be to God that He blessed our registration with more registrants than we have had in recent memory, 270! Through the conference, all participants were eager to study the fear of the Lord and to grow in it. We learned from beginning to end that those who fear the Lord are truly blessed!

This conference was full of the Word of God as we had 8 different messengers who each shared powerful and enlightening messages on the theme. Through their messages, we were empowered with a clear direction to live out lives in reverent fear of Him, overcoming the fear of man and lustful temptations. On Friday, the messages were centered on who the Lord is that we should fear Him (Luke 12:1-12 and Psalm 34:8-22). Saturday's messages looked at specific examples of those who feared the Lord and how God blessed them through it (Joseph, who feared the Lord and resisted Potiphar's wife; Daniel, who feared the Lord and was rescued from the lions' den; and the thief on the cross who feared God and received salvation from Christ). Sunday's message was a call to live out our lives in reverent fear, knowing that we were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.

God blessed us with 7 life testimonies, 4 symposium speakers, and 4 world mission reports. The mission reports ranged in age from 16 years old (Noah Brown from Washington) to 77 years old (Missionary Daniel Yang from Rwanda). We were encouraged to see that God is still working through us. We pray this conference may spur us on to the blessed living before God.
