“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?’ (Isaiah 43:19a)
Thank God for blessing the 2025 Canadian Summer Bible Conference, which was titled “A New Thing” based on Isaiah 43:19. The theme of the conference focused on hope and revival through the new things God has done, is doing, and will do. This conference took place from July 24 to 27 at the University of Calgary, the first time it was held in Western Canada. God answered many prayers by sending over 300 attendees, who overcame the challenges of travel expenses. The conference was especially blessed with more than half the people being students and youth.
God blessed each of the messages, which were deep and inspired by the Holy Spirit. The messages were given by Philip Wong on God doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:18-19), David Jumeau on the new birth (John 3:1-21), John Koo on the new covenant in the blood (Luke 22:1-30), Ernest Chan on a new command to love one another (John 13:1-38), Samuel Mukwedeya on a new life in Christ (Romans 6:1-23), David Chang on the new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21:1-8), and Joshua Kirkland on a new identity and calling to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
The grace of Jesus was revealed through several life testimony speakers who were young, growing disciples of Jesus. There was also a symposium on spiritual revival. Four speakers spoke on four main prayer topics for Canada UBF. Liza Kim (Vancouver 3) spoke about faith- based marriage, emphasizing hope and vision for establishing more families of God through such faith. Then Wendy Lin and Maria Seo gave reports about their short-term mission trips to Malaysia and Sri Lanka, respectively. Steven Giesbrecht gave a presentation on the revival that is happening in Montreal UBF among second-generation young people. And Celine Kirkland gave a testimony about her family’s experience of God‘s blessing through a new house church ministry serving in Sherbrooke. Through these, we can see God answering Canada UBF prayer topics and bringing revival in Canada.
Praise God for pouring His Holy Spirit through our conference to see the new things that God is doing through Jesus and the Gospel!
