About 80 people attended in person, and many more participated online. It dealt with various topics, such as mobilizing church members for mission and evangelism, passing on the first generation’s spiritual heritage to the next generation, caring for full-time missionaries, raising self-supporting professional missionaries, and so on.
Henry Park was invited to be one of the 18 speakers. He shared, based on Isaiah 6:8, about UBF self-supporting missionaries’ case studies (1,500 missionaries in 90 nations) such as nurse, medical doctor (2 African doctor missionaries received prestigious awards), Ph.D. shepherd (72 in North America), diplomat, student, grocery store owner, clothing store owner, Korean language teacher, sewing machine operator, chicken killer, silver missionaries and so on. 8 LA UBF members attended this conference with him. One of them asked him to share this report with the young people of LA UBF, saying that it may encourage them to have a great sense of identity as UBF members.
One pastor, P. Sang-Chul Song, shared about a very effective way of witnessing to people through one-to-one witnessing by pictures. It may be helpful for us to learn this method. This conference was a time to share the work of God through UBF and learn from other church leaders and mission organizations to advance God’s kingdom locally and globally.
